I heard a Pygmy Owl at home first thing this morning. Later the
whiskeyjacks were doing NOPO imitations, the standard toot, which they
seldom do here. They often make a trill like noise, in imitation of the
jays.
A Saw Whet Owl was calling in the wee small hours last night, as one did
last week. The Saw whets are quite seasonal here.
