Spent all daylight on 10 November in Oregon waters, about 30-50 miles offshore,
heading south between off Lincoln City (dawn) and the CA border (dusk) aboard
Princess cruise ship. Good numbers of birds almost all day long. Highlights
included:
1 Mottled Petrel (88 km W of Lincoln City)
2 cookilaria petrels
15 Laysan Albatrosses (a state high?)
3 Flesh-footed Shearwaters
45 Buller's Shearwaters
6 Short-tailed Shearwaters
huge numbers of gulls (Herring being especially abundant)
1 Canada Goose 40 km offshore
