When: Saturday and Sunday, May 6 & 7
Where: The Bandon area
Birds and Site Conditions: Target birds include Snowy Plover; spring migrant
shorebirds; alcids, including Tufted Puffins; and spring migrant passerines.
This trip is a no-host weekend, limited to 12 persons. We will start at 8 am
Saturday morning in the Bandon area, and bird all day for targeted species at
various sites. Sunday birding locations will be based on any remaining target
birds and group consensus. We will bird until approximately 1 pm.
Participants make their own arrangements for lodging and food. We will plan on
an informal no-host dinner Saturday evening.
The birding will be from foot trails and vehicle-accessible birding spots.
Walking may include some moderately long beach walks.
Participants are responsible for their own travel. Carpooling is encouraged for
travel to the site. The number of vehicles will be kept to a minimum while out
birding. Please be prepared to share your vehicle or ride with others.
How to Register: The trip is limited to 12 Oregon Birding Association members.
