Hi all,
The Oregon 2020 team has been preparing for our 2016 blitzes of counties, where
we count birds in the Oregon 2020 hotspot squares. Blitzes are like county-wide
bird counts where we divide into teams for a weekend of birding, count birds in
the squares during each morning, then check the usual famous hotspots for birds
in the afternoons.
We will be updating sign-up information on our web page ( www.oregon2020.com )
soon, but we wanted to get the dates on your calendars in the meantime.
Join us for one or more!
Jackson County: 20-22 May (do some 2020 birding in the morning, then join us at
the Mountain Bird Festival! Rumor has it we will also be looking for Great Gray
Owls during one evening)
Hood River: 26-27 May (Thursday and Friday, leaving Memorial Day weekend free
for Malheur!)
Tillamook County: 4-5 June
Umatilla County: 18-19 June
Jefferson County: 25-26 June
Come help us create a great legacy of bird data for future generations of
Oregonians.
