I rode a bicycle to Bald Hill and beyond yesterday. That's immediately west of
Corvallis. Orange -crowned singing at the south end of Mulkey Ridge Crossover
trail. Maple blossoms are rapidly opening around lowland Benton/Linn Counties,
a few days behind the Portland area. Here in the foothills of nw Washington
County just the very first hint of blossoming on big-leaf maple. Lars

Last spring I could hardly buy an Orange-crown, but there are four of them in
one shrub in my front yard this morning, which suggests migration. Also a
few rumps and zonos.
