Also on beach a few flocks ( a few hundred) of Sanderling, Dunlin,
Westerns, and BB Plover. Saw two Black Oystercatchers headed north over
breakers- where are they going? Flocks of Brant. A couple Caspian Terns. By
the way, Terry Wahl said Aleutian Cacklers in a few days ago down in New
River bottom ranchlands in Coos/Curry where tens of thousands stage this
month most years.
Quite a show this AM, but still early for shorebird peak (it is just
getting started).

Big movement just past breakers right now. Just counted 800 loons in 5
minutes streaming north and that is just the near shore ones I can see with
bins. Some Red-throateds mixed in also. A couple pelis. A few flocks of
20+ Rhino Auklets. Gulls, scoters, and murres also. Like rush hour traffic
out there now! C Yellowthroat singing next to me.
Onwards with our morning dog walk,
Merry migration!
