Hi All -
Last December, Taghrid and I had an outstanding birding trip to the Oaxaca
region. We covered main areas around Oaxaca City, including Teotitlan, Yagul,
La Cumbre, Monte Alban. We also spent a few days on the other side of the
mountains in Tuxtepec, where we covered the Cloud Forest, Cerro de Oro,
Guadalupe Trail, Camelia Roja. Overall, it was an amazing trip, with around 195
species seen over 10 days, of which we had about 60 lifers.
Highlights were a number of new-to-us warblers, such as the Red Warbler,
Red-faced Warbler, Golden-browed Warbler, Crescent-chested Warbler,
Chestnut-sided Warbler. Non-warbler highlights were Aracari, Barred Antshrike,
Trogons, Dwarf Jay, Collared Towhee and Rufous-capped Brushfinch.

I will separately post a link to some plant and butterfly photos if there is
interest.
Happy birding,
Nagi & Taghrid
