I walked the dike at sunrise yesterday morning from the Fire Department to
the Sea Scout Base and back. Other than two humans, a handful of Scaup, a
few Golden Eye, Gulls, and Cormorant the place was really quiet. I
realized I was being followed by a Coyote halfway to the Sea Scout Base.
Beautiful on the one hand but a tad unnerving at times - like vultures
circling. I thought it was going to follow me across Marine Drive as I was
making my way back to the car but it decided against that at the last
minute and bounded back over the dike, looking for (burrowing) critters I
presume.
