Those of us who read OBOL via the aba digest see the following
when a message has an attachment.

In other words, we don't see anything including any supplemental
text describing what the photo might contain or an alternate URL
to chase the lost material.
I can go to the freelist archive, find the message there, open that
and then open the photo. Extra bit of hassle, but I'm a grown up and
can deal with it.
However, folks checking on the birding action from elsewhere or any
folks who may not have access to the freelist archive are not seeing
anything but code and have no mechanism for follow-up.
I would argue that the best mechanism for sharing media remains posting
on one of the many photo dedicated sites and putting the URL here.
That assumes you genuinely believe you have a photo worth sharing with
the entire community.
