My question in all cases like this is not “Give me details on the bird,” but
rather, “Where?”
I am familiar with the Bear Creek Greenway between Ashland and Talent. It lies
on the north side of Hwy 99, between the highway and Bear Creek, between
Ashland and Talent.
However, the pin drop shown on Dennis Niebuhr’s eBird checklist is on the south
side of Hwy 99. Google map’s aerial view shows a path there, but I do not see
any access points to that path. A Google search of “Lynn Newbry Park” shows
that it is in Talent, on the north side of Hwy 99, on the Greenway Path I know.
That make me think the pin drop is an error.
Clearly Ashland is outside my social distance radius. I’m just trying to
understand where this sighting happened.

For those who have not read the ebird report in detail, Denny Niebuhr found a
live Nuttalls Woodpecker in Newbry Park in Ashland.
