After an early AM dentist visit out South, already halfway to Ankeny NWR I
went down there to watch the fall changes. there were quite a few Greater
Yellowlegs and Dowitchers, 40 or more Greater White Fronts, and a few
Peeps. No new county birds or anything to liven things up and that is not
the reason I watch birds. I keep lists, that is part of the fun, but it is
not why I am a birder. I care about conservation as well. Watching fall
movement of shorebirds or geese can be helpful in that regard. We birders,
who like our hobby for many reasons may have been painted with a slightly
broad brush in the past day or two. I get in a bad mood once in while and
I hope that is what got into you Joel. Speaking for myself, we like having
you on obol as a birder and conservationist
