Kay Fagan, Jan Laird, and Larry Miller helped me do Carol Karlen's North
Yamhill County Raptor Route today. We got more birds than Carol & I did
exactly a year ago.
24 Red tailed Hawks
32 Kestrels
2 Merlins
2 N Harriers
7 Bald Eagles, 5 adult, 2 immature (2 nests)
The route runs 55 miles from McMinnville up through North Valley, back to
Yamhill, then out toward Pike and back down the foot of the Coast Range to
McMinnville.
It was a good day, with minor sprinkles toward the end of the route.
