I tried for several hours today to relocate the Pine Grosbeak at the Netul
River Trail at Fort Clatsop, but did not succeed. There were few birds along
the trail.
At the northern 90-degree turn along Wireless Rd there was a Red-shouldered
Hawk.
In Cannon Beach, a Black-legged Kittiwake was roosting in the gull flock on the
north side of Ecola Creek late afternoon. This seems to be a fairly reliable
place to get good looks at roosting kittiwakes in winter. Also present were
several Thayer's Gulls.
