Re: a recent question about a return of last winter's bean goose, I scan the
Refuge fields on a regular basis. More geese are showing up each week, but I
have not seen a bean goose with them yet.
Re: Barnacle Geese sightings on the Refuge, a land owner up the Little Nestucca
River has indicated that he had 3 Barnacle Geese escape from his farm about the
same time that they were first observed around the Refuge, which was about 3
weeks before the first OBOL posting of these birds. He has since come over to
view the birds, and believes they are his.
