Hi Kay, Your bird looks good for a Willow Flycatcher to me - overall coloration, yellowish wash on breast sides, rather short primary extension and lack of a distinct eyering all support the ID. Also, the lower mandible appears to be pale. Nice pictures! Hendrik __________________________ Hendrik G. Herlyn Corvallis, OR "Nature is not a place to visit. ID Help To: "OBOL" <obol@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Monday, May 20, 2013, 10:27 PM I saw a flycatcher today that I’d like some help in pinning down an ID of. Unfortunately, it was completely silent. There are three pictures here: https://picasaweb.google.com/kaycarter13/Empid?authkey=Gv1sRgCKTGnrCUps-xaA# Unfortunately, the unfocused shot is the only one I got of the front. (Auto-focus is nice, but . . .) I’ve included it because it does give a fair impression of the color of the breast and belly. This was taken near Canby, not too far from the Willamette River. Willow Flycatchers regularly breed in this area . . . Thanks for your help. Kay CarterCanby, Oregon
