For anyone who has photos of this or another Nashville Warbler, where the photo
was taken in Oregon and might be an “eastern” subspecies, please consider
forwarding such photos to the Secretary, Oregon Bird Records Committee. At its
meeting earlier today, the Committee opted to begin collecting records of this
subspecies in anticipation that it is a candidate to be split into a separate
species. Committee contact information here:

Perhaps I could chime in here, I was the lucky host of a Nashville Warbler in
first couple weeks of January at my suet feeder, was a very regular visitor
through the days. Did not observe much tail bobbing, remember puzzling over
that description, as it did not seem to fit. Posted a photo at the time to
verify ID, first noted the bird January 1st. And after that took a whole lot
of photos, and also hosted a few birders who come by to see it and
photograph, with much fancier equipment. Have not followed this discussion
closely, but the tail bobbing discussion caught my eye, thinking may have had
an Eastern ? Did not see the bird after the last ice storm night here in East
Multnomah County, 4th and final ice storm/silver thaw of the winter.
