Hi,
I think it can become confusing to name a Hotspot after a rare species once
reported there.
The Lincoln Co. Rare eBird Alert page (
https://ebird.org/alert/summary?sid=SN39373) indicates the latest Magnolia
Warbler report is for 1/6 at Ona Beach SP (see below), and, as I posted to
OBOL & LCBNO before (see below my signature), the latest Black-and-white
Warbler was sighted on 1/5 at the "stakeout *Gray Catbird*, Beaver Creek
Rd. (2018)." There is no report of a Gray Catbird in the past week at the
eBird Alert site, and there is also no eBird report of a Gray Catbird in
Lincoln Co. since 7/18/2018 (

eBird has a Lincoln Co. Hotspot named "stakeout *Gray Catbird*, Beaver
Creek Rd. (2018)" (https://ebird.org/hotspot/L7706444?yr=all&m=&rank=mrec),
and a search of that Hotspot's web site indicates the Gray Catbird was
first and last reported there on 7/4/2018 and 7/18/2018, respectively.
While it can be convenient at the time to name a Hotspot after a rare
species found there, it can later lead to confusion between eBird reports
of the species and reports of the name of the Hotspot. I think this
probably happened in Harry Nehls' posting to OBOL today ("RBA: Portland, OR
1-10-19): "The Ona Beach State Park *Black-and-white Warbler, *the *Magnolia
Warbler *and the nearby *Catbird *continue to be reported." The Catbird
Hotspot was recently reported, but not a Catbird.
