-- I drove up on a merlin eating a dove today. He was so intent that I could
get very close. Poor picture from phone. Nice bird, looked lighter grey then
some of the darker black ones I have seen this month (female Richardsoni?).
First time for me seeing them with dove. Mostly they are eating House sparrow
or maybe starling. I didnt see this particular bird take this dove from
surprise but I also did not see a chase or fight with other Raptor or Raven
either.
