Hi all,

Count Week for Oregon's version of the North American Migration Count
(NAMC) is already in progress, as of Wednesday!

Count week birds are mostly just for fun, as we won't be keeping track
of effort outside of the scheduled count days (either Saturday, May 10th
or Sunday, May 11th depending on which county). However, hopefully the
count-week idea will add a bit of inspiration to get outside for some
birding.

Lane County is already off to a great start in the sparrow department,
with yesterday's news of Clay-colored and Grasshopper Sparrows. Columbia
County birders are no doubt happy to know that at least one Western
Tanager is around, even if today's drizzle sends it back into hiding.

Happy migration!
Joel
