Hi All -
One of the birds from our Oaxaca trip that’s giving me a hard time with ID is
in the attached photos below.
We’ve thought of the following possibilities but it seems to not fit well into
any of them:
• Hermit (juvenile): but even juveniles seem to have slightly dark cheeks,
which this bird doesn’t. Nor is the chest as brilliantly white as this bird’s.
But seems closest fit
• Olive (juvenile): same issues as with Hermit.
• Black-throated Green (juvenile): the dark cheek stripe seems present even in
juveniles. And same issue with dark upper chest.
So, any thoughts or suggestions as to the ID of this warbler would be
appreciated!
