I briefly checked the area around the McMinnville dump this morning at around
9:30am. There were about 100 gulls off Delashmutt Ln, but no Glaucous Gulls.
Many Thayer's, Herring and Glaucous-winged Gulls, yet only 3 Ring-billeds. In
the ponds on the western edge of the actual landfill were many pink-legged
gulls, including at least 2 first-cycle Glaucous Gulls. While there is a small
1-car pullout opportunity along 18, viewing from the edge of the road is tricky.
2 Rough-legged Hawks were also in the fields southwest of the dump (1 along
Sauter and 1 along Christensen Rd).
