Jeff,
You did spell Keizer correctly in the body of the message and given Dave and I
were out birding this afternoon not that far away we detoured over to look for
the Brant. There were lots of Cackling Geese and the White-fronted Goose were
present but no Brant.
Mind you SIRI pronounced it KEEZER, but she also pronounced slough as SLUFF and
the U.K. version of SIRI pronounced it SLOW.

Joel is right, I bungled the name of the city harboring a Brant this
afternoon. Sorry for the confusion.
Patricia had an errand at the city library in Keizer, and I thought to check
out Staats Lake and possibly Keizer Rapids while she was there. On the way
into the city center, we crossed Clagget Creek, and saw the flock of Cackling
Geese there. So after dropping Patricia, I went back to Clagget Creek Park to
look for white geese with the cacklers. Instead there was a black one that
happened to be at the near edge of the flock, as I looked them over from
Chemawa Road. A loud bang flushed them all, but they milled about in the air,
then began to come back in. I walked around the block to get a look from
Dearborn Ave., but failed to relocate the Brant. There was a Greater
White-fronted Goose with the flock at that time. The geese were actually in
the pasture on the east side of Clagget Creek, not in the park. I was amazed
to find a Brant in such a small flock of Cackling Geese (I estimated 300)
right in town.
Good birding,
Jeff

Just in case this puzzled anyone else as much as it did me on first
look: pretty sure this supposed to be "Keizer." No doubt one of those
smartphone autocorrect "bonuses"...
There is a Brant with a large flock of Cackling Geese at Clagget Creek
Park in [Keizer], Marion County just now. They all took off when a car
backfired, but are coming back. SW of the intersection of Chemawa and
Versa.
