A couple of people have asked me whether the Malheur student intern program is
going forward this year. Yes it is, and the student application deadline is
this weekend. However, donations for support should not be sent to the
“Friends” address right now because that mail, which would normally go to HQ,
is being held in Burns lest it be chewed by R.O.U.S.
The interns are two undergraduate students who conduct bird surveys for the
refuge June-August.
Contact me if you’d like to support this program. We need about $3000 for the
summer program; a little over $1000 is currently pledged or in hand.
There is also a spring intern this year; that position has now been fully
funded by donors - thanks !
