Hi all,
A. and I and Tule the wonderdog got here late yesterday afternoon and
blasted right down to Page Springs without stopping at HQ or anywhere else.
Pre-prandial walkabout at PS netted a Black Phoebe near the entrance. Given
the 1+ second look I had at it I wasn't going to list it on eBird ...
Today we tried the old hit and miss game with Black Rosy-Finch up on the
Steens. Let's just say that we have displayed some remarkable proficiency
in the " miss" column. Gobs of redtails and a couple Golden Eagles, Prairie
Falcon, etc. As we made our way down southern portion of the loop we ran
into Mike Denny and Dan B., always fun. Anyway, Mike told us that they had
had a juv Broadwinged Hawk at Sod House lane this morning. He said that
they had an adult Red-shouldered at HQ and also the continuing Anna's along
with Black-chinned and I think maybe a Rufous too.
He also said that there had been a juv Red-shouldered somewhere in the P
ranch area. And, fun for me, they had a Black Phoebe at the entrance to
Page Springs this a.m. so I'm regarding last night's glimpse as kaching!
