Long Beach Peninsula birder, Suzanne Staples, and I saw an adult Loggerhead
Shrike this afternoon on Willapa NWR property on 85th Street, a few hundred
yards east of Sandridge Rd.
I was hoping it was a Northern since I am soon heading to Arizona…
Identification was based on: clean pale gray underparts, small all dark bill,
black mask meeting above the bill.
