Over the years Lincoln's Sparrow hasn't been always easy to find in Yamhill
County. Carol & I might find one along the way somewhere. If we got a good
snowfall, we might get one in our yard. In 2013 & 2014 we found one at a
rural spot on her raptor route. In 2014 we didn't find it until November or
December.
Last year, 2015, I revisited that spot several times. No luck. Twice I
visited a spot where Harry Fuller had seen one. No luck. I did not find a
Lincoln Sparrow in Yamhill County in all of 2015.
Then on Jan. 4, 2016, while doing the raptor route, we found a LINCOLN'S
SPARROW on Grand Island. Go figure.
Now I have one in the backyard. It arrived Jan 26 and it is out there now.
