During today's enjoyable birding, Sally Hill and I discovered a major
(nearly 100) gull "wad" at the Yachats River mouth.
Approximate breakdown in numbers:
1 GLAUCOUS GULL (2nd winter)
2 Black-legged Kittiwakes
200 Western
500 California
2 Mew
20 Herring
10 Thayer's
Also were a few Glaucous-winged hybrids.
