Thanks, Tim.

There's evidence both Red-necked and Red Phalaropes also
pass in dense compressed spring flights similar to if not
even greater than these Western peaks coming out of
Humboldt Bay, but fanned far offshore at this latitude.

Doug Robinson also just mentioned Wilson's Phalaropes
on Lake Abert in previous falls which hadn't come to mind,
including an estimate of 360000 in Aug 2013.

The record for Coos is from 2 May 2006 from Bandon Beach by Dave Lauten and Kathy Castelein. They had up to 57,000 shorebirds an hour passing by with a total estimate of 400,000 birds 90% of which they estimated were W. Sandpipers. Wow!!!!!
