Today my father and I birded Sherman Co. on our way back westbound we noticed a
much darker than usual gull on the sand spit across from Deschutes River SP, on
the Wasco side of the county line. We drove back and found a spot on the hill
to look. We easily relocated the bird, an adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL mixed
in with several dozen (mostly California) gulls. I have included a checklist

the was fading light and distance the photos are not great. This is about 35
miles up river from Hood River, not far for one of the gulls reported there a
few weeks ago to go, but who knows I guess.
