A SOOTY GROUSE was booming at the top of Larch Mountain in Multnomah
County. I love that sound.
The gate to the top is likely still closed though there is no snow there.
I had hiked up from Multnomah Falls, but know the gate was still closed on
May 7, and I did not see any cars in the parking lot today.
