Sorry, the gulls were at BIG Creek, Lane County. There were a few gulls at
Rock Cr as well, but we did not stop.

Obol,
A few days ago on 1-29 there were 4 BARN SWALLOWS on Cleawox Lake.
The YELLOW-BELLIED Sapsucker was still present as well.
Today I drove up to Yachats for lunch and did a little light birding
with a non-birder friend. At Rock Cr there was a huge wad of 400+ gulls.
The flock was dominated by HERRING, with at least 350 individuals that were
99 percent adult. There were also a few THAYER type ICELANDS, some
WESTERNS and GLAUCOUS-WINGED, 1 CALIFORNIA and 1 juvenile GLAUCOUS.
Presumably the same bird Roger Robb had roosting here a week or two ago.
Not a single Mew in the group.
At Tokatee-Klootchman we only saw 1 of the LONG-TAILED DUCKS and it was
further out than usual. A HARLEQUIN Duck was posing on the rocks at Bob Cr.
with a couple Oystercaychers. I did not see the brown Loon from this
weekend, but did have a mixed group in the same area, so worth checking.
Good birding,
