This morning while doing work on the computer I heard an odd chip note. I
went out and the chipping continued pretty emphatically. I was finally able
to spot the bird in the top of an alder. It was difficult to find and
stayed high and in the leaves. It finally popped up and revealed itself as
a first fall CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER. It was too uncooperative to photograph
so I ran to get my phone to record it. Unfortunately it was gone by the
time I got back less than a minute later. I searched for an hour around
the neighborhood but couldn't relocate it. This is on Glenada Rd. several
houses east of the hotel. If it returns this afternoon I'll send our
another note.
