On my way to Elmira this afternoon, I stopped by Kirk Pond to check on the
Caspian Terns. Two were still using the log across from the observation
platform. One flew around a bit. On my way back home later in the afternoon,
I walked along the river at the west end of the pond and found two Caspian
Terns hunting in a cove that would not be visible from the platform. If anyone
else looks for them and they're not visible from the observation platform, a
broader search might result in success.
