Interesting that it is not considered rare given it is only the second report
of this bird since the 70's... great find!

Yesterday (04-20-17) Noah Strycker found a GRAY FLYCATCHER at Whitehorse Park
(just north of the rest room north of the road at the edge of the river, near
boat ramp) in the short, scattered willows in a mostly open area. He reported
it on eBird. He took photos, but not posted yet. Big Thanks To Noah!
Got a "need for your year list" message from eBird on this. Check yesterday
afternoon about 4:30 with no luck. Returned this morning and no luck at around
8:30 to 9 am. But, at about 1030, low and behold...there it was in the same
area where Noah found it. Although not listed as a "rare" bird in Josephine
Co, to the best of my knowledge, this is only the 2nd bird reported in the
County. Steve Summers has the honor of reporting the 1st. I couldn't find the
date, but believe it was in the mid-70's and in the Manzanita Rest Stop area.
One of the species I have been looking for in the County for several decades.
Notified Zia Fukuda when I found it and relocated it when Zia arrived. She
took some photos also.
A Good Day birding, Dennis
