Quick walk from education center to sw corner of wapato marsh: BULLOCK'S
ORIOLE observed for first time (by me anyway) this spring, a female chasing a
MOURNING DOVE out of large cottonwood at ne. end of education center.
PEREGRINE FALCON, large adult bird (molt in wings and tail) soaring over east
side of wetlands, gained much altitude and drifted west of hwy 219, then north.
Female WILSON'S PHALAROPE very visible at south end of wapato marsh. OSPREY
still apparently brooding eggs at south end of pintail pond, staying low in the
nest. BUSHTITS with fledglings in tow. LESSER GOLDFINCH with fledglings in
tow. Singing: BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK, WESTERN WOOD PEWEE, SWAINSON'S THRUSH,
LAZULI BUNTING, YELLOW WARBLER, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT. No cranes observed.
