I checked again early this morning to see if there might be aresidual
flight, but overnight winds had shifted to from thesouth and in over
an hour I only saw a handful of migrantscrossing the ridge.
Local conditions overnight prior to Friday's flight were clearwith
winds NE or NNE 6-14, with rapid warming and continuinglight NE winds
after sunrise. Also as others had noted N or NWwinds were fairly
strong for one of the very few times thisspring on Thursday afternoon
and evening, which may havealso aided the compression effect on
migrants moving overnightinto Friday morning.
