So is this really a Cooper's Hawk? (Steve Harder's post from Monday).

Lars thought so, as did I. But, why are the legs so reddish, the chest so pale, 
and that beak!

One photo, not so clear, but huh, very odd looking.

    I took this picture this afternoon in Corvallis on the dirt road leading 
to my house. The victim is a Eurasian collared dove which the hawk very 
impressively flew off with a short time after I took the picture.
