I've had Anna's since I first "installed" a Eucalyptus tree in my yard.
They have been reported to have followed them up to BC

Based upon hummingbird numbers here I've believed that Anna's started being
migratory in
northern Oregon at least 10 years ago. And as a result, their numbers are
way up.
For 10 or more years now we have a big upsurge in spring that goes through
into the summer,
as posted by Tim. Typically they start here well before the Rufous arrive.
(I'd say Rufous numbers are also up but nothing like Anna's. They're
certainly coming from
somewhere and that must be the south as that's the direction of food.
BUT we haven't had an upsurge this year here in Carver as yet. I'll keep
my
eyes out.
I looked up the CBC counts for Oregon and California. Not sure that says
anything about
migration per se, but since about 2000 the numbers per observer hours have
a
dramatic
increase for Oregon while remaining relatively constant for California.
(See attached) So the non-migratory numbers have also been increasing
steadily in that time period, while they
were pretty constant for decades before then.
