This past weekend Bonnie and I were up in the central Cascades kayaking
with friends at beautiful Hosmer Lake. In addition to the usual joys ...
families of Soras, PB Grebes, Wood Ducks, BH Eagles, Ospreys, and otters we
found 2 surprises at 5000 feet. A Green-tailed towhee was foraging around
our campsite and a Red-shouldered Hawk was cruising the forest and meadows
adjacent to the lake. Didn't expect that.
