OBOL, hello;
A Red Tail Hawk family has some babies in their crib; west of Portland on
Hwy 26. Just prior to the Helvetia/Shute exit; there's a row of trees lining
a drainage ditch south of the highway. The crib is located towards the
eastern end of the row of trees and easily viewed from across the highway in
the business park on the north side of Hwy 26.
To access the business park: exit at the Helvetia/Shute exit. Go right and
then immediately turn right again onto Jacobson Road. Proceed east on
Jacobson, keeping an out for overhead high tension wires. Just before going
under the wires, turn right into the business park; and proceed straight
through it to a hedge row overlooking Hwy 26. From thence the Red Tail crib
can be easily viewed across the highway.
ps: the highway is pretty noisy so you might want to bring along some
hearing protection.
