A Harris’s Sparrow has been found on Grand Island in Yamhill county by Shelby
Byerly.
It was first reported on Satruday.

She saw it again Sunday.

Bill Tice and I went down there this afternoon about 3 – 4 PM. We got to see
the bird around the Byerly home and across the road. I got to meet Shelby, who
is a student of Don Powers ornithology class at George Fox U.
I was shown where we can go and where to park. The bird was readily visible
from the road.
Contact me for directions. The pin on the map associated with the eBird report
is not accurate.
There two previous records for Yamhill County

I’m tied up today with kitchen remodel. I could possibly run out tomorrow
afternoon.
Could one of you send me the photo(s)?
Thanks for being on top of this. Please keep me posted.
Tom

Bill, Tom,
I got a couple texts from Shelby this morning. She included an aerial photo of
their place, marking the bushes where she took the photos.
She says they won’t be home today, but it is OK to come look for the bird. I
have things to do until after 2:30 PM. Might either of you be available then?
If not, we can aim for tomorrow. I have all day then.
Paul
