We are hearing great horned owls for the past week as well in Wilsonville.
There seems to be two owls talking to each other in our pasture, in the
Doug Fir trees.

Good morning all,
Heard a Great horned owl hooting in our N.Eugene backyard last night around
9pm.
I have heard GHOs hooting in January/February of 2000-2006-2010 and 2011,
never in October. Is this unusual this time of year? Or do they just give a
hoot anytime they want?
It was great to have the tiger owl back in the hood.
