Hi all,
Nolan Clements and I birded Philomath Sewage Ponds and Cabell Marsh at
Finley National Wildlife Refuge yesterday, and Cabell again today. 1 STILT
SANDPIPER continued at Cabell yesterday, along with 5 Greater Yellowlegs,
two LB Dowitchers, 5 Least Sandpipers, and 21 Westerns.
This afternoon at Cabell, the Stilt Sand was a miss, but was replaced with
an AMERICAN AVOCET in clear view. Other added birds were Spotted Sandpiper
and Lesser Yelowlegs, at least one each.
Early today, Duncan Evered refound a likely LEAST FLYCATCHER at Willamette
Park and located a TENNESSEE WARBLER. This afternoon a large group of
birders including us, Duncan, Will Wright, Kai Frueh, Bill Tice, and Mark
Baldwin failed to refind the Tennessee, but did locate a single Nashville
Warbler. Other warblers included Townsend's, Yellow, Orange-crowned, BT
Gray, and Myrtle's and Audubon's Yellow-rumps. The park seems to be the
best known spot in Benton for passerine migrants this time of year.
Good birding,
Caleb Centanni
