I visited Broughton Beach this morning and found a Red Phalarope near the
gull roost. It flew in from upriver and landed on the water for a few
minutes. Just after I left, I got a text from Peyton Cook that an Elegant
Tern had landed at the gull roost. I made it back in <10 minutes, but alas
it was gone. Peyton got excellent photos. A large flock of about 50
Bonaparte's Gulls flew in and landed while we waited in vain for the return
of the Tern. The turnover at this spot is pretty amazing. Makes you
wonder what we miss!
