Hi -
I have been seeing Song Sparrow and White-crowned Sparrow fledglings at Yaquina
Head for about the past week. The neat thing is, Brown-headed Cowbirds have
just arrived in the last couple weeks. both last year and this year, the
sparrows have gotten off a first brood before the Cowbirds were around to
bother them.

Oscar and I have noticed a couple of spotted junco fledglings around our place
for the last 3-4 days now. And a robin is feeding noisy young in a nest high in
an oak behind our apartment.
What a fun time of year!

This evening I saw the first of the season, being fed by its dad.
This follows the first singing Western Tanager here, which started yesterday.
