Hello birders,
Oscar and I celebrated my birthday today by heading down to Finley NWR,
where we were awed by an enormous flock of about 15,000 Cackling Geese near
McFadden Marsh. It was a breathtaking experience to have the entire flock
explode into the air and fly directly over us when a Bald Eagle came
soaring by and scared them up! As a nice bonus, the flock also contained 2
SNOW GEESE and one lone ROSS’S GOOSE!
