Thomas Meinzen and I saw two adult stilts with two very small chicks in the
muddy pond west of the fisher access observation platform this morning. The
adult stilts were quite noisy. Given that these same stilts were quiet, sedate
and chickless on Saturday morning, the eggs probably hatched between mid-day
Sat and yesterday.
Other highlights were three bitterns flying along in line astern, a little odd,
a wigeon, Wilson's phal male, a few gw teal and two male pintail.
Meadowlark Prairie was slow but had a pair of Wilson's Phal.
