[obol] Fern Ridge Bitterns and a belated Chat

A friend and I went out to Fern Ridge along Royal Ave, at 7:30pm
on Friday. We did not hear any Yellow-Breasted Chats, which I had heard,
seen, and photographed the previous Monday around 8:30am. We did however,
see two American Bitterns in plain sight on the North side of the trail,
West of the denser shrubs where the Chats live, and we saw them "in-action"
- while making their odd "oonk-a-choonk" call.
Aging seems to be a real phenomenon. The jokes about it are getting less
funny. I honestly can't remember if I posted already about the Chat - I
don't think I did. Here's a link to the photo I got on Monday:
