I saw my first Egyptian Geese at Lakenheath Fen RSPB Reserve last May; beautiful bird, I must say. I mentioned the sighting to the reserve staff and was told about 70 pairs of Egyptian Geese are established in Norfolk and Suffolk. They are cavity nesters and breed earlier than the resident Tawny Owls (and non-native Little Owls) out-competing them for nest sites. They are not a welcome addition to the English avifauna.
