There have been two reports of early Swainson’s Thrushes lately. One in
late March and one in early April. I thought this very odd being close to a
month before I have ever seen/heard one in Coos. However I noted not a
“peep” from anyone on OBOL?
Now is the time Hermit Thrushes begin migrating so I would caution folks to
be careful on their ID. I normally expect my first Swainson’s in Coos the
last few days of April but sometimes later.
Just thinking that late March/early April Swainson’s in OR would be an
amazing rarity...
